The Digital Health Workshop

"With no computers in sight, this was a refreshing change...the splodging of blu-tack, the rustle of big bits of paper and the wiggling of limbs all happen in the space of three hours. I think we all emerged healthier and feeling more in control of our digital (and analogue) futures."  Andy Holt - Regional Policy Manager - The Learning & Skills Council

Improve The Digital Health of Your Organisation

The Digital Health Workshop helps your organisation have happy and productive employees by enabling them to get control over their often-difficult relationship with technology. This empowers your whole organisation to be the best it can be.

Not knowing how to deal beneficially with the high amount of digital technology we are confronted with causes frustration and drastically drops our productivity.

The Digital Health Workshop tackles this problem and helps your organisation’s people – and by extension their co-workers and the organisation as a whole – to get the best out of the technology for a stress-free working life.

Participants will diagnose their own digital health, envision how they would like to be in future and transfer this vision into realistically practical actions for change.

At the end of the workshop the participants will:

  • have identified their personal digital health
  • be aware of how it impacts harmfully or beneficially on their work, the work of their organisation and on their personal lives
  • have an achievable, rectifying vision of their relationship to digital technology
  • have decided on practical steps to take to achieve that vision

In addition to the workshop, a series of one-to-one sessions are available, where the participants can be assisted by a Digital Health facilitator to implement the goals they have developed in the workshop, detailed further below.

Buzz about The Digital Health Workshop

“ The Digital Health workshop made me think about what I use everyday and its affect on me both positive and negative. It helped me step back and re-think which digital artefacts I wanted to let into my daily life and which I needed to get rid of. Overall it was great to understand what I would like to achieve in the long-term by subtly nudging me to commit to a productive habit that could help my digital health and possibly also de-tox it's current state.” - Priya Prakash
Creative Director - Digital - Hachette-Filipaccchi (UK) Ltd

"It's like relationship advising for twenty-first century digital slaves and addicts ; the workshops makes you look at your REAL needs to create your very individual digital world... Really enjoyed that it is digital free yet highly interactive..."   Marion Gillet  - Creative Product Developer, mariongillet.com

"I [...] enjoyed the experience deeply. [The] workshops offer unique and creative techniques to deal with digital stress in this age of information overload. Engaging with actual humans in physical space – what a concept!" - Alex Mahan, Web Developer, Addison

"A dynamic, fun, and useful workshop that helped me take control of the multiplying digital technologies in my life. Taking the time to step back and analyse my digital world has reduced my 'digital stress' and made my working day a more productive and enjoyable experience."  Ruth Townend -  Outreach & Fundraising Officer, Survival International

"I was impressed by the approach [...] to structuring and facilitating this workshop and would recommend it to anyone feeling overwhelmed - or simply looking to improve - managing the dense flows of information we're confronted with daily on the internet and via mobile - from email, spreadsheets and text messages, to music downloads, social networks and RSS feeds.

Rather than issuing blanket prescriptions, the workshop stimulates a more holistic exploration of our current position, perceived issues therin, and goals, whether for work or personal needs. In fact it removes the wall between them to highlight that digital well being is closely tied to a broader appreciation of our priorities as productive, assured people in all walks of life.

The flexibility of the workshop is its strength. It would be as applicable to a large organisation or team as to a disparate group of individuals. The common aim of managing our digital activities effectively whilst examining their real value and minimising the negative side-effects, is nimbly and comprehensively tackled. I can see scope for follow-up workshops too; but I think that's evidence that it taps a deep well of needs.

I personally found Improve Your Digital Health a far-sighted but realistic tonic and a stepping stone to better things!"
